From Earsplit Abigail Williams are set to participate on this summer’s highly
anticipated, Revolver Magazine-sponsored, Thrash And Burn Tour. Kicking
off July 29 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the festival tour also featuring Darkest
Hour, Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Winds of Plague, Arsis, and others, will
find the band performing selections from their forthcoming full-length debut,
titled In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns.
Kerrang! said of the band’s 2007 Legend (ep), “Abigail Williams have taken
fresh-faced metal down the left hand path... the result is obscenely
exciting.” Blabbermouth adds, ““Legend lays a firm foundation for
greatness to come.” With over 15,000 units sold of Legend and 1.5 million
hits to their popular MySpace page, all eyes and ears are awaiting the autumn
release of In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns. The James Murphy-produced
album features guest performance by Trym Torson (Emperor/Zyklon) and has been an
intense working project for all of 2008. The album is set to contain nine
new songs from the band currently featuring core vocalist Sorceron and
keyboardist Ellyllon, with Plaguehammer (bass), Matt Brown (guitar), Bjornthor
(guitar) and Samus (drums).
Abigail Williams defy classification by taking the groove and melody of
Gothenburg-styled death metal, face-smashing breakdowns of the hardcore scene
and topping it with the bombastic and epic-flavored frostbite of black metal’s
evilest hordes. The result is a multi-faceted and unforgettable hybrid that has
had genre aficionados taking keen and immediate interest in the band since their
inception. The band have toured the US and Europe several times in the
last 18 months and were hand-picked to open for Emperor at their sold-out
performance in Los Angeles (House of Blues) in July of 2006.
Confirmed Thrash and Burn dates featuring Abigail Williams are noted
below. The band will immediately fly to England to join the European
Summer Slaughter tour kicking off August 29 in Liverpool (running through
September 8).
