BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE EXTENDS “SOMETHING FOR ALL OF US” TOUR INTO THE FALL!

For those who are hitting the festival circuit this summer, you’re probably already aware that Broken Social Scene has been responsible for some of the summer’s most joyous, exciting performances.  If you haven’t made it to these shows, now’s your chance to see the band shine:  Toronto’s finest will be extending the Something For All Of Us Tour, which starts this August, into the Fall for performances across the U.S.  Named after the newest album in the Broken Social Scene Presents series, Brendan Canning’s amazing solo record – Something For All Of Us… (out now on Arts + Crafts), the tour will feature Broken Social Scene as a seven-piece including band staples Brendan Canning, Kevin Drew, Justin Peroff, Charles Spearin, Apostle of Hustle’s Andrew Whiteman, Sam Goldberg and Leon Kingstone.  A pre-sale for these shows will go on sale via the Arts + Crafts website – http://www.arts-crafts.catoday, with the general on-sale to follow this Saturday, August 2nd at noon in each time zone.

For the Something For All Of Us Tour, Broken Social Scene will be performing songs from Brendan Canning’s brilliant record, in addition to tracks from the 2007 release Kevin Drew’s Spirit If… and tons of fan favorites from their incredible discography.  The songs from Canning’s album have quickly become integral to the Broken Social Scene live set, from the springboard bounce-pop of first single “Hit the Wall” to the disco-driven “Love is New.”

“Something, chock-full of woozy sing-alongs and pulsing ballads, suggests that Canning is just as responsible for BSS's life-affirming guitar pop…” – Pitchforkmedia.com

“With his semi-solo debut, Brendan Canning makes the case that he might be the guy really responsible for the Scene’s glisten, summoning goose bumps with gossamer strings and arranging rockers that simmer...” – Spin

“…this is an epic art-rock album at its core, but Canning never becomes so insular as to lose the plot.” – Billboard
