Don’t be SCHOCKED if Miley Cyrus Hits Number 1

Gina Schock, of the Go Go’s fame, branches out from performer to songwriter – co-penning the title track off Cyrus’s album Breakout

New York, NY-July 29th – Gina Schock, drummer behind the 80’s powerhouse all-girl pop-punk group The Go Go’s, left her drum sticks behind to team-up with writers Trey Vittetoe and Ted Bruner to write the incredibly edgy and catchy pop song Breakout – the title track on teen phenom Miley Cyrus’s sophomore album which was released last Tuesday, July 21st.

This isn’t Schock’s first traipse into the songwriting world.  Since her days with The Go Go’s, Schock continued drumming with various artists and honing her singing and songwriting skills with such groups as Vance DeGeneres and House of Schock.  She’s also lent her writing chops to various film and television projects.

Schock’s songs have appeared in films including The Accused, Superstar and Bull Durham and she continues to collaborate, write and produce new bands – constantly expanding on the drumming talents that made her so well known in the 80’s.

Stay tuned to what’s next from this multi-talented, multi-faceted dynamo!
