**ON TV THIS WEEK: THE DUKE SPIRIT & BLACK KIDS**

The Duke Spirit-  THE TONIGHT SHOW with Jay Leno- Tonight

The Duke Spirit are making their triumphant return to American airwaves this evening on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno! The UK band will be playing “The Step and the Walk” from their sophomore album, Neptune (Shangri-La Music).  The Duke Spirit have always turned heads with their incredible live show, and this summer will be no different as they take their commanding and soulful act to a venue near you. (Dates below…) The Los Angeles Times said of this week’s Download Festival performance, “Their swaggering garage-pop hit like a drunk, smoky kiss on the mouth” while LA Weekly noted “There’s something unique and organic about this British band even as there’s something instantly classic and familiar about them.” Additionally, The Duke Spirit’s stirring performance of “The Step and the Walk” will also be re-airing on Late Night with Conan O’Brien tomorrow, Wednesday July 23rd.

Amidst a busy touring schedule, the band has released a video for another track from Neptune, “Lassoo” which can be seen here: http://shangrilamusic.com/thedukespirit/video2/main.html

Black Kids- THE LATE SHOW with David Letterman- Thursday

After touring and recording abroad, Jacksonville, Florida’s Black Kids are celebrating their return to the states in style. Don’t miss the energetic five-piece make their debut US television appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman this Thursday, July 22nd. The band will bring audiences nationwide their hit single, “I Don’t Wanna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You”, which is one of the many exuberant tracks on their highly anticipated album – released today! – Partie Traumatic (Columbia/Almost Gold). The Times of London calls the album "a gloriously original debut chock full of youthful enthusiasm," one of the many positive accolades it has garnered since it’s release in the UK and Europe earlier this month.

In addition to Thursday’s David Letterman performance, the band will play for free tonight at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square, New York at 7:00PM and again on Friday, July 25th at Santo’s Party House, NYC’s newest nightclub.
