Minneapolis’ own hip hop duo, ATMOSPHERE, have announced Southsiders, their first album since 2011’s The Family Sign, which is set for release on May 6, 2014 via Rhymesayers. Listen to “Bitter,” the first single off of the forthcoming release, via Pitchfork! You can also pre-order Southsiders now via iTunes or via the official Rhymesayers Store, Fifth Element.

Atmosphere, featuring rapper Sean Daley (aka Slug) and producer Anthony Davis (aka Ant), recently wrapped up their “Welcome to Minnesota Tour” and are set to perform at this year’s Sasquatch Festival and Squamish Festival. See dates below!

Southsiders, the group's eighth studio album, was recorded in south Minneapolis and Oakland and is a shout-out to their native neighborhood. While it is a celebration of Atmosphere's fortitude, it is also deeply introspective and "a very detailed look at my life," says Slug. With Southsiders, the group's unique sound featuring vibrant, live instrumentations and Slug's often-weighty subject matter, continue to push the boundaries of what indie rap can mean. See track listing below.
