AU REVOIR SIMONE ANNOUNCES WORLD TOUR!

Brooklyn’s Au Revoir Simone will be hitting the road this spring in support of their second full-length album, Still Night, Still Light, out on May 19th on their own label, Our Secret Record Company. The album is currently available to pre-order as a CD or 10” vinyl on the band’s website aurevoirsimone.com. The tour will see the girls traveling all over Europe before returning home for a cross-country trek with support shared by Jeffrey Lewis and The Junkyard, The Antlers and Findlay Brown. The tour begins in Paris on April 18th

The three ladies of Au Revoir SimoneErika Forster, Heather D’Angelo, and Annie Hart - are no strangers to life on the road.  Upon releasing their acclaimed debut full length, The Bird of Music, in 2007 Au Revoir Simone toured tirelessly, opening for the likes of Peter Bjorn and John and Voxtrot, while also gracing the stage in the UK and Europe, where they were asked to open for Air.  They spent their summer days playing shows in Japan, Turkey and festivals all over the world.  In their travels, they began to explore what it means to be gone from the places and people they love, while simultaneously coming back to those people again and again, only different each time.  Exploring the complications of distance and closeness, they started to write a batch of new songs.  Produced by Thom Monahan (Vetiver, Little Joy), Still Night, Still Light was born.

The collection of twelve songs sees our three keyboard-wielding heroines creating something that could only be called “elemental”.  Gone are the bells and whistles of The Bird of Music, and in their place is a stark closeness, as if hearing a secret from someone you love for the first time. Their new album has also opened up their live show to take on new dimensions, with the inclusion of live instruments (a bass guitar on some songs, a cymbal on others) and three part harmonies sounding more beautiful than ever before.
