From Ben Sollee about Remix: A Few Honest Words

I wrote A Few Honest Words with the idea that so much could be accomplished with more sincere and honest dialogue among our political representatives. Barack Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention revitalized this notion. His words were equal parts grounding and uplifting. Obama is not scratching his way to the top of this election, but is riding on a wave of believers that love his story and admire the direction he aspires to lead this country. So, in collaboration with Atlanta’s DJ 2nd Nature, we have produced this remix which draws on some of Obama’s own words.

Brief on Ben Sollee:  Named one of NPR’s Greatest Unknown Artists of 2007 and PASTE’s 25 Best of What’s Next (Sept 2008), Sollee has been touring North America in support of his album with Abigail Washburn and the Sparrow Quartet (w/ Bela Fleck and Case Driessen) for the bulk of 2008.  Sollee will kick off his first U.S. solo tour November 1st in support of his new album Learning To Bend.
