Animals, the new album from Vancouver's Bend Sinister, will be in stores tomorrow and fans can listen all day long at The Big Takeover today! The 10-track album is the follow up to the band's critically acclaimed and American debut 2012's Small Fame. Bend Sinister recorded Animals
in San Diego at Signature Sound and teamed up with Grammy-nominated
producer Joe Marlett. To kick off the album launch, the band partnered
with American Songwriter to premiere their first single, "Fancy
Pants." They followed up with a great video for their second single,
"Teacher" which has the band doing what they do best - playing live. The
folks at Crave Online loved the video and gave it an awesome premiere in February. The band is now touring in support of Animals and can be found in Austin all week for SxSW. Their official showcase is on March 15 at the Velveeta Room, but they will also be playing at Social Good Space on March 11, at the Canada House Showcase on March 13
and have been in talks to perform additional shows all week. Following
SxSW, the band will drive their van to the east coast for a run of dates
in St. Louis, Chicago, Pittsburgh and more, including two shows in New
York. All tour dates are listed below. Before heading into the studio to begin working on Animals, Bend Sinister had quite a busy 2012-2013. Their North American tour in support of Small Fame brought them to CMJ and SxSW, as well as other major markets across the U.S. The band toured constantly behind Small Fame
hitting Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, San Diego, Chicago, Nashville
and more. Radio and press became fans of the band instantly. Bend
Sinister saw adds come in across the U.S. including plays on KROQ (Los
Angeles), KCXX (San Bernandino), KTCL (Denver), KXTE (Las Vegas) and
more. The band premiered the album on AOL Spinner and with a feature in Alternative Press. Shortly after they were stopping by and performing at Daytrotter in Iowa, Playboy Radio and AXS TV in Los Angeles, Acoustic Cafe in Ann Arbor and JB TV in Chicago. Paper Magazine
premiered the band's first video from the album for their song "Quest
for Love" which featured adult film star James Deen. The video was
quickly picked up by other outlets seeing additional coverage at Death
and Taxes, Alt Sounds, Culture Brats and more.
