West Coast November Tour Dates Announced with John Hiatt

 

New York, NY: Singer-songwriter Benjamin Taylor will be joining John Hiatt for a West Coast tour in November 2008. Taylor will be performing songs from his new album, The Legend of Kung Folk Pt. 1 (released on Taylor’s imprint Iris Records).

 

Says The Washington Post: “From his famous parents to the company of his sister Sally, who is a singer-songwriter, too, Ben Taylor has been gently rocked into this world, sonic-wise, by music knit right at home and sounds from the world of music that makes its way into one’s home.  Mos Def, The Roots, David Bowie – to name but a few more influences – have      helped shaped Ben’s musical point of view.”

 

Recorded with legendary producer Frank Filipetti (who’s worked on classic albums with both of Ben’s parents, James Taylor and Carly Simon), The Legend of Kung Folk reveals the humor, wit and skill of a songwriter who’s comfortable in both his own skin and with his musical legacy.  Guests include former Morcheeba vocalist Skye Edwards, UK keyboard wiz Jamie Cullum and others.
