Bipolar Sunshine has joined the ranks of the recent British invasion and has been gracing “Ones To Watch” lists upon releasing his sophomore EP
Drowning Butterflies. Now, he will make his way stateside for the
annual SXSW Music Conference. He will play five shows including the
FADER Fort and Hype Machine’s Hype Hotel soiree.
FADER recently wrote,
“Judging by what he’s teased so far—demonstrating the
dexterity to pull off both witty speak-rapping, and the bolder rock
singing here—it’s primed for big things.”
Bipolar Sunshine is the alias of soft-spoken Adio Marchant, a gifted songwriter determined to not get pigeonholed and one who has amassed a strong fan base. Those fans include tastemaker DJ Zane Lowe, who recently premiered Bipolar Sunshine’s latest single, “Where Did The Love Go.” That track, along with two prior, have all peaked at #1 on Hype Machine’s charts. “Marchant has an uncanny ear for vocal melodies and harmonies that have separated his music from similarly fragile contemporaries,” praised Pigeons and Planes while Earmilk exclaimed, “The budding singer is poised to become another great talent to burst out of Manchester.” It’s no surprise he was tapped to support the likes of Bastille, as well as Phoenix and Rudimental for a five-night stint at Brixton Academy in the UK. He will continue to play UK shows leading to his US debut, including a run with London Grammar through Europe.
