Chicago’s Post Honeymoon announces tour, makes you feel like they’ve only just begun.  Self-titled album set for release this June, hella catchy single “Night Guard” available HERE. Think Siouxsie Sioux meets The Motels, meets Love & Rockets (without the guitars).

“This music is a driving force filled with a rhythm the might surprise you.” – The Deli Magazine

Post Honeymoon’s roots go back to a summer night in 2001, when drummer Nick Kraska met keyboardist Rachel Shindelman (both ex-Bang! Bang!, New Black) and brought her to a show at Chicago’s Empty Bottle.

It took them three years to start playing together and another three to get married, go on their first vacation and start their own outfit, the aptly named Post Honeymoon.

The duo’s new album self-titled album was engineered and produced by Greg Norman who has previously worked with Pelican, Russian Circles, Mclusky, The Atari Star, Pinebender, Milemarker, Andrew Bird, and 90 Day Men.

Featured tracks include “Dirge,” about a Hurricane Katrina story as told to Nick and Rachel by two New Orleans cab drivers. The drums on the track are based on traditional creole funeral drum beats.

Additionally, the song, “Fakes,” was recorded with two drum sets playing at the same time: Nick and Shane Hochstetler from Milwaukee’s Call Me Lightning (French Kiss).  Check out footage of this crazy percussion experience HERE.  The album’s first featured track is the drum-tastic “Night Guard” (MP3).

Post Honeymoon strips bare and slows down the pop songs Nick and Rachel perfected while playing in other outfits. What’s left are the kind of tunes you dream up when you think nobody else is listening. Think Siouxsie Sioux meets The Motels, meets Love & Rockets (without the guitars).

See the band on the road as they embark on an extensive string of dates from May through July.
