Creative collective Illiterate and design studio, Trust, collaborate
to host the new Creative Kegger event series at Denver’s Cluster
Studios. Built around conceptual themes, these expansive community
gatherings transcend the standard fair party by combining education and
entertainment. Participation is the word for these interactive
happenings. Dance, play, converse, create, the line between audience
and performer blurs in the multifaceted Cluster Studios warehouse. On May 29, 2009, Creative Keggers 001: New York City Street Games transports iconic neighborhood pastimes from the heart of the Empire State to the heights of the Mile High City. In a warehouse turned NYC streetscape, get raucous playing and learning high energy NYC recreatiaonal traditions like Double Dutch, Hopscotch Basketball, Butts Up, and Four Square alongside classic activities of chance and strategy such as Skelzies, Chess, Checkers, Dominoes, Shell Game and Dice. DJ’s Musa, AWhat? and Peter Black bring the nostalgic sounds of the street back on the 1’s and 2’s for anyone with old school moves. After working up an appetite on the court or game board, come satisfy your cravings with a hotdog, gelatto and a cold brew to wash it all down. Inspired by the theme? Submit art, photography and writing to Illiterate’s online arts community www.illiteratemedia.com for a chance to get published in the Creative Kegger Scrapbook at www.creativekegger.com. Roll up your sleeves put on your kicks and get ready to call next at Creative Keggers 001: New York City Street Games. |
