Cover Art for Upcoming …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead LP to be Revealed

 

New York, NY – Conrad Keely and Melissa Auf der Maur will feature their work in an exclusive NYC art opening. Taking place on Thursday, October 23rd at 34 East 1st Street from 6-9pm, this show will also see the cover art for the upcoming and highly anticipated …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead LP revealed. Keely will be showing works in blue ball point while Auf der Maur will present her photography.

 

Conrad Keely is one of the founding members of critically acclaimed rock band …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. After living in multiple countries and amongst various cultures during his childhood, Keely attended The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA just prior to settling down in Austin, TX. Soon after, Trail of Dead was formed with bandmate Jason Reece. His artwork has been featured on all Trail of Dead albums in addition to bands including The Sword. This blue ball point collection has been two years in the making according to Keely. He recently displayed his works at the RIATS Fest in Brooklyn, where he currently resides.

 

Born in Montreal, Melissa Auf der Maur was raised with a fine arts education and a love of music. Between 1994-1999, she was a member of Hole, and her participation as bass player and songwriter culminated in the album "Celebrity Skin" released in 1998.  In 2000, she joined the Smashing Pumpkins for their farewell world tour. In 2004, "Auf der Maur", her first solo album, was released by Capitol Records / EMI worldwide.  She toured Europe and North America for over a year in support of this album. The album featured guest appearances by esteemed members of Queens of the Stone Age, A Perfect Circle and Smashing Pumpkins. She has made numerous guest appearances with other music artists including:  Indochine, Ryan Adams, Rufus Wainwright, Ric Ocasek and K-OS.  She has exhibited her photography in New York, Montreal and Tokyo and her photos have been published in magazines such as: Spin, Nylon, American Photo and Harper's Bazaar. “Out of Our Minds”, her new project which she has entirely and proudly self-produced and financed, will be released in Spring 2009.
