EELS to Embark on North American and European Tour

In celebration of the release of their new album The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett on April 22, EELS will set off on a North American and European tour, kicking off in Austin on May 16 with stops in New York, Los Angeles, London and Paris; please see below for complete dates. The introspective new 13-track release from the ever-changing project of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Oliver Everett (aka E) is described as “an extraordinarily vivid and intimate document of a personal struggle.” Stereogum recently premiered the new album track “Agatha Chang” at, track listing follows. The album is available for pre-order at and will be released in a deluxe 26 track 2 CD edition and a double 12 inch clear vinyl edition (with 13 bonus tracks on vinyl as well); both editions include a free download.

The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett marks the 11th full-length release for EELS, whose debut Beautiful Freak was released in 1996. In addition to the recordings, Everett has embarked on a number of non-musical projects as well including his acclaimed book Things the Grandchildren Should Know and the multiple-award winning Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives documentary film about Everett and his quantum physicist father, Hugh Everett III, broadcast on PBS’ Nova series.
