Burger Records
is proud to announce the release of Whoop Dee Doo by The Muffs, their first full-length album of new material in 10 years, out July 29th. Packed tight with the kind of well-crafted, catchy ear candy the band has become well known for, Whoop Dee Doo will no doubt be a welcome addition to this legendary band's catalog of well-loved, stone classic songs. You can listen to first single, "Up And Down Around," below.

The group is made up of Kim Shattuck (Lead Vocals & Guitar), Ronnie Barnett (Bass & Backing Vocals) & Roy McDonald (Drums). Formed in Los Angeles in late 1990, they've attracted attention for their energetic, exciting live performances as well as a rock solid body of studio work. After singles released by Sub Pop, Au Go-Go & Sympathy For The Record Industry, the band recorded three critically acclaimed albums (The Muffs, Blonder & Blonder & Happy Birthday To Me) for Warner Brothers/Reprise. In 1999 fan favorite Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow saw the group jump to Fat Wreck Chords/Honest Don's followed by their last album Really, Really Happy, released in 2004 on Five Foot Two, a label started by their longtime friends Charlotte Caffey (Go-Go's) & Anna Waronker (that dog). They also have had their songs appear on over a dozen soundtracks for major motion pictures, most notably their cover of "Kids In America" which leads off the gold-selling soundtrack, as well as the opening credits, of the beloved movie Clueless.

The recent past has seen the band be far from inactive, with constant touring around the world, appearances in the "Rock Band" video game series & the release of 2011's Kaboodle, an "odds & sods" collection of singles, b-sides, compilation & assorted stray tracks released by the English label Cherry Red (who are also co-releasing Whoop Dee Doo over there & in the rest of the world). The most recent past has seen Kim join & depart the Pixies in 2013 & Roy reunite with his former band Redd Kross for their recent Researching The Blues album on Merge in 2012.
