After releasing two EPs, 2012's Other Voices and Who Needs You, and wracking up miles worth of touring, The Orwells are pleased to announce via Pitchfork the release of their debut album Disgraceland on June 3rd through Canvasback/Atlantic Records. The release will include tracks
produced by Chris Coady (Smith Westerns, Beach House) Jim Abbiss
(Arctic Monkeys) and Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio). See track listing
below. To celebrate the announcement, they've shared a new
track off the album, "Let It Burn", with live footage filmed on their
most recent tour of the UK. The song will be available as an instant
gratis upon pre-order of the album. "I'm not that old but I'm getting pretty wise" -- a sentiment within the early seconds of The Orwells' new album, Disgraceland, that pretty much sums up the eleven tracks that follow it. Two years have passed since the band emerged from their boring Chicago suburb as five high schoolers hell-bent on reminding the world that American rock & roll is still alive. A lot has happened since then for The Orwells. They've slain and sweated on audiences around the world, recorded with their favorite contemporary producers, shared the stage with childhood heroes, and even had David Letterman begging them for more. And now, as they release their irresistibly raucous yet masterfully architected Disgraceland, The Orwells are getting pretty wise. Doing whatever comes naturally seems to be paying off for The Orwells. Their television appearances on Later With Jools Holland and The Late Show With David Letterman in the past year gave audiences around the world a taste of what concertgoers have seen during the band's recent tours with Arctic Monkeys and FIDLAR. They are currently on a headlining tour of North America, with sold out dates in NYC, Chicago, LA and more. See all tour dates below with more to be announced in the near future.
